Wabi-Sabi Bamboo Brooch N2 in Frosted Sterling Silver by the Artist, Feat. in Vogue
This contemporary brooch N2 in frosted silver with wabi-sabi not shining surface belongs to the Bamboo collection. It was made as a part of Bamboo triptych to wear all the brooches together the ink calligraphy way. The brooch is the new it-piece for the multiple ways to wear it. The brooch was featured in Vogue, Elle, and Zoot magazines. It's texture and lines reflect the Japanese wabi-sabi tradition.
Bamboo collection was designed in 2010 by Polya Medvedeva, abstract ink calligraphist and oil painter from Berlin. The design refers to the calligraphy principle 'line and spot', as the balance of "chaos and order". The jewel fits to the other brooches by the author, as all the pieces were created to be easily worn together. Later the artist encrusted the brooches with the gems, such as diamonds, spinels, tanzanites, emeralds, rubies, sapphires.
